LETTERS FROM JONI LAMB – March 2018

Dream On

I absolutely love spring! The endless beauty of God’s creation and the intricate, thoughtful detail He puts into even the smallest flower never ceases to amaze me.

During this season, I often spend quiet moments surrounded by the life blooming in my backyard as I think about His faithfulness over the years I’ve spent in ministry. Like many of you, Marcus and I have faced setbacks, disappointments, and failures while in pursuit of the dream God placed in our hearts to reach the world with the Gospel. But through it all, God’s Word and His promise in my favorite verse have always sustained me.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11

Each year, the chill of winter comes, causing all that is green and alive to lie dormant until the warmth of spring awakens it to new life. I believe our God-given dreams are a lot like that. Heartbreaking challenges may have convinced you that the good plans God has for your life are gone, never to emerge again. But that’s just not true.

In midst of our pain, fears, and frustrations, His plan is still at work. You may not see it. You may not feel it. But God has not forgotten about you or the dreams He’s placed in your heart.

In fact, even as you’re reading this, He’s there with you. I encourage you to take a few moments right now and pray. As you surrender the pain of your past, I believe you can fully trust Him to give you hope and a future filled with passion and purpose. And just like the flowers each spring, God will make all things new as your dreams begin to breakthrough and bloom.
