Happy Easter!
Easter is one of the most important days in the Christian calendar, and yet too often we breeze past it without taking the time to stop and really reflect on the true meaning of the day – the death and resurrection of Christ. He didn’t have to come and die for our sins, but He chose to, and because of that choice we no longer have to live in the bondage of our sins. Because of His death and resurrection, we get to experience everlasting life with Him!
Romans 6: 6-7 says, “for we know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.” It doesn’t matter what you’ve done in the past. When Jesus died on the cross, He paved a way for all of us to throw aside our past mistakes – our old nature – and begin again in Him. Our past sins don’t have to define us anymore, but rather our identities are in Him.
Because of His death and resurrection, we now have a hope for the future. This Easter season, remember to reflect on this truth and never forget the wonder of His love for us!
